My name is Buddy Butler, I am the owner and trainer at Crossroads Kennels LLC. My goal is to help your dog to meet their full potential of being a companion, hunting buddy, or competition dog. I have owned hunting dogs all of my life and have experience in different types of UKC licensed hunts. I love to see a dog meet its full potential and when that dogs owner can enjoy the benefits of a well trained dog. To see how my passion as a dog trainer began check out the "Our Story " page.
When you live a busy life, it is hard to consistently provide the attention and training that your pets can demand. With several different breed of dogs trained, time invested shadowing knowledgeable trainers, proven obedient dogs, and success in competition hunts. You can rely on us as we have experience and have done numerous hours of research to make sure we can accommodate any breed and their owner's expectations. Buddy believes and does his best to treat people how he wants to be treated and always commits to be honest and fair in every situation.
We are located in Downsville, LA (North Central Louisiana). Our kennels consist of 50 square foot separated kennels. They are built on a concrete foundation with protection from rain and the intense heat of a Louisiana summer. We take serious measures to make sure our dogs stay cool in the shade while they are in their kennels. Each dog will also have access to its own insulated house. We ensure you that your dog will be treated the same as ours.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, of course. The relationship between you and your dog is just as important as its training. Obviously you will not be able to see your dog on a daily basis while it is in training but we offer visits to see progression in training and occasionally they can come home with you for a day or two upon request.
Yes you will be responsible for all vet bills and checkups. The price for food is factored into the monthly price.
No I do not have to handle them. It is your dog so you can elect who handles them. I do suggest that you learn how the dog acts and reacts before you handle the dog. We will be glad to help you in this process. If you do not feel comfortable handling the dog and feel that you would rather me handle the dog, I offer to handle the dog and charge a handlers fee of $150 per hunt test/ competition.
We look forward to working with you! Please contact us via text message, phone call or email to meet in person, or to make any pet services appointment. If you have a special request, send us a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
